Electrolaser
-Ion Assisted High Voltage Discharge Weapon - ![]() Electrolaser Ion Guidence Laser Overview: A laser emitted from the body of the Spiridus is used to create a path of ionized air. This path is then used to guide a high voltage current to attack targets. The discharges from the Electrolaser are similar, visually to lightning bolts. As the laser from the Spiridus firing control units tracks targets it emits a yellow beam. As it prepares to fire the beam turns red, presumably creating the path of ionized air, followed by a weapons discharge. An anti-aircraft version of the Electrolaser is located at the top of the Spiridus and has a better tracking system, controlled by various fire control units, that allow it to attack highly mobile targets. Remain in beneath the weapon or within the weapon's blind spot is the only way to effectively evade it. Combat Deployment: Following their defeat in Tokyo, the Spiridus escaped into the Middle East to support Valahia forces in the region and eventually mounted its own attack against London. The Electrolasers located on the wingtips and tail of the Spiridus attacked the city in the middle of the night. After damage from the Antres Squadron disabled the aforementioned Electrolasers, the Spiridus deployed a fourth and final Electrolaser, located at the top of the craft. Aided by multiple firing control systems, the Electrolaser attacked the Antares Squadron until the battle's end. SOURCE: Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault [Game Data]

Hi-TASM
-Submarine Launched Thermobaric Missile - Overview: The Hi-TASM is a Submarine Launched Themobaric Missile that shares similarities to the Shock Wave Ballistic Missile seen in Ace Combat X. After being launched the Hi-TASM flies to a high altitude, returns to lower altitudes and detonates at 3200 feet in the air, destroying anything below it, within its area of effect, with a large Thermobaric Warhead. Though points of the SWBM's deployment are similar the Hi-TASM is a much more conventional means of attacking large areas. Combat Deployment: The Hi-TASM is first encountered in ACX2 during missions in the Croatian Adriatic Sea. During an assault of a Valahia controlled port that was the source of various anti-shipping operations in the area and after the first encounter with the Varcolac squadron, Valahia Submarine surfaced far from the Port and fired multiple Hi-TASM warheads against Antares Squadron. Later, the Hi-TASM was used during the peak of the Golden Axe Plan to halt Martinez Security ground forces in Nevada. The Spiridus II which was passing over Lake Tahoe, attempted to halt the Martinez forces from taking the base that acted as the headquarters for the Golden Axe Army attempted to fire multiple Hi-TASMs from beyond visual range. Antares squadron's initial attacks were unable harm the Hi-TASM launchers as they were protected by READS; a system that used electromagnetic energy to deflect many incoming attacks. By disabling the fire control unit before, during or after the launch of a Hi-TASM from the Spiridus II, windows of opportunity to fire high powered, land based missiles at the Spiridus II were utilized by the Martinez ground forces. Every strike from a land-based missile would knock out the READS system temporarily and leave the Hi-TASM launchers defenseless. The Hi-TASM was the first of many weapons system to be knocked out of action by the Antares squadron in that battle. SOURCE: Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault [Game Data]

New Weaponry and Load Outs
-New Weapons and Custom Loadouts- Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault offers a variety of weaponry seen from past Ace Combat installments, while providing the player with a number of new weapons and the ability to customize aircraft weapons load outs before missions. In order to unlock weaponry for specific aircraft, the aircraft must be used in missions. For example, the F/A-18E Super Hornet has Standard Missiles and Unguided Bombs as default weaponry. As missions are played weaponry becomes available for purchase and paint schemes are unlocked. However, the weapons unlocked for the Super Hornet are only accessible for the Super Hornet. Special weapons for other aircraft must be acquired by taking those aircraft out on missions. Custom Weapons Load Outs Each aircraft has two weapons slots, not counting the aircraft's cannon. These slots may be used to equip any two of the eight weapons an aircraft may potentially have. Though the same type of weapon cannot fill both slots, there are no limits to the types of weapons that can be used together. It is possible to equip two special weapons or two standard missile variants or one special weapon and one standard missile variant at a time. Standard Missile Variants In addition to new special weaponry, Joint Assault offers variants of the Standard Missile; the common weapon of all Ace Combat aircraft in every Ace Combat installment. The variants of the Standard Missile are shown below: Standard Missile [STDM] - It is balanced in cost, firepower and quantity. High Accuracy Missile [HACM] - This missile has improved accuracy but a shorter range. Light Weight Missile [LGWM] - These missiles can be carried in high volumes for less cost, but offer low firepower. Heavy Weight Missile [HVWM] - These missiles come in very low quantity with high cost, but have immense firepower. New Special Weaponry ODMM (Omni-directional Multipurpose Missile) SASM (Short-range Aerial Suppression Missile) IRCM (Sustainable Infrared Countermeasure Shells) Sources Ace Combat X2: Joint Assault [Game Data]

Welcome to Electrosphere.info -The largest Ace Combat Database on the Internet- Welcome guests and "what's up?" to returning members of Electrosphere.info, known to the community as Electrosphere 2.0. Created in 2005, Electrosphere.info is currently the largest database of Ace Combat information on the internet, presented in the English language. While not the largest in terms of member count, the modestly sized community of the Electrosphere has built this website with the efforts of a only a fraction of its member base. The website currently being viewed acts as the community forum for the Electrosphere, where the member base converses about various subjects and can indirectly make changes to or additions of Ace Combat information, which will later be added to information articles by the Electrosphere Staff. The official website of the Electrosphere is Electrosphere 2.5 [ES 2.5] (www.theelectrosphere.com). This website presents information from ES 2.0, community related media and acts as the primary source of information concerning changes and additions to the Electrosphere as a whole, directly from the ES staff. It is highly recommended that Electrosphere 2.5 be bookmarked by all Electrosphere members, in case ES 2.0 goes offline. As ES 2.5 is hosted on a different server, any vital information that needs to be given to ES members will be given there.
